“Remember that the most beautiful things in the world are the most useless: peacocks and lilies for instance.”
- John Ruskin (English Writer and Critic of art, architecture, and society, 1819-1900)

It's for an office project, actually. We were tasked to make designs for a daily planner for a well-known coffee shop franchise and I was in the mood for photo-manips galore. I'm using a different clip art for the thing I'm showing my boss though 'cause, really, what's a peacock doing in a planner for a coffee shop?

Peacock clip art + a few layers of free stock photos manipulated in photoshop = my office wallpaper for the month

Hmm... I dunno about that.

Anyways... wow, nice. As stuffy and detaily(is that a word?) as it is, it's not too distracting and is stil nice to the eyes.

Love the text too. What font is it? Or is it a picture?

I love the texture on it! Great colors too, the teal works so well with the beige and the burnt colors. Man, I love things like this and always wonder about how they were conceived. WOO.

thanks! i've been experimenting with the blending mode of the layers :D they make the colors look waaaaay more pretty :D

the textures were from several photos from [link]. most stuff there are free, although for some you'd need to ask permission from the artist. you'd have to search a bit for really great pics though.
